Who qualifies for the SVB Express rental program?
You need a valid CDL-A, at least one year of driving experience, and an acceptable safety record. All applicants are subject to company approval.
What equipment is available?
The program offers Freightliner Cascadia tractors and Dry Van, Flatbed, Conestoga, and Reefer trailers. Equipment is subject to availability.
How does the 88% of gross revenue work?
Contractors receive 88% of gross revenue before rental charges, insurance, maintenance fees, and other applicable expenses are deducted. Your final earnings depend on your revenue and operating costs—not just the gross amount.
How does the Winter Promotion work?
From November 1, 2026, through March 31, 2027, weekly truck rent is reduced by $100 for trucks with up to 600,000 miles and $200 for trucks with more than 600,000 miles. The promotion applies to truck rent only. All other program terms remain unchanged.
Can I receive additional rental discounts?
Yes. After six months, weekly rent rebates are $50 for the truck and $25 for the trailer. After 12 months, the total weekly rebates increase to $100 for the truck and $50 for the trailer. The winter rate table shows promotional pricing with these rebates applied.
How are maintenance and repairs handled?
Maintenance fees are $0.12 per mile for the truck and $0.06 per mile for the trailer. Ask our Fleet Manager to review covered repairs and exclusions before signing. Damage caused by negligence remains the contractor’s responsibility.
What insurance options can I choose from?
Auto liability and cargo insurance are available in three payment options: $225 per week, $0.10 per mile, or 4% of gross revenue. Truck and trailer physical-damage coverage is charged separately, with per-mile or equipment-value-based weekly options. The program lists deductibles of $2,500 each.
Is an escrow deposit required?
Yes. The required escrow is $3,500 for the truck and $2,500 for the trailer. Each is funded at $500 per week until its required balance is reached. If you rent both, contributions total $1,000 per week while both balances are being funded. Ask our Fleet Manager about applicable deductions and refund terms before signing.
What other expenses am I responsible for?
Contractors pay for fuel, DEF, tolls, parking, CAT scale tickets, permits, and other operating expenses. Additional program charges include IFTA and permits at $35 per week, license plates at $50 per week, ELD and dashcam at $20 per week, and occupational accident coverage at $155 per month.
Are the calculator results guaranteed?
No. Calculator results are estimates based on the inputs and assumptions shown. Actual freight rates, mileage, fuel costs, and other expenses vary. Review the calculator’s exclusions and discuss your expected costs with our Fleet Manager before making a decision. The program’s sample earnings are also explicitly not guaranteed.
Is lease-to-own available?
Yes. A lease-to-own option is available for qualified contractors. Escrow may be applied toward a down payment. Contact our Fleet Manager to discuss eligibility and specific terms.
What happens if I need to end my rental agreement?
The program requires 14 days’ written notice. Equipment must be returned to the designated terminal unless otherwise approved. It must be professionally washed, cleaned inside, free of personal items, and in good condition. Cleaning and repair charges may be deducted from escrow.
